Bartholomäus Ringwaldt (28 November 1532, Frankfurt (Oder) - c.1599, Langenfeld near Zielenzig; today Długoszyn near Sulęcin, Poland) was a German didactic poet and Lutheran theologian. His chorale Herr Jesu Christ, du höchstes Gut (Lord Jesus Christ, you highest good) is the base for Johann Sebastian Bach's cantata Herr Jesu Christ, du höchstes Gut, BWV 113. Bach used single stanzas of this hymn in Wo gehest du hin? BWV 166 and Tue Rechnung! Donnerwort, BWV 168.
